Collection: Other Abstract

These non-representational abstract paintings usually involve blended colours. There is often some mark-making involved. You might see things in these paintings - sometimes things that others don't see. They may appeal to you, they may make you feel in a certain way - they may bring up certain emotions. During a recent Herefordshire Art Week, four lovely older ladies walked from painting to painting, each pointing out what they could see. 'Look, there's a person looking up at the sky!' - the other three would all lean in and eventually agree that they could see the person, although one pointed out that it looked more like a rabbit. 'And look, there's a house in the mist', said one of the others - and they'd all lean in to try to see what she was seeing. They were seeing things that I'd not seen myself, and I loved every second of it!
